Well done to the Nepal 2009 Cyclists!

"At 5.00 p.m. on Sunday 20th September 2009 at the King Alfred statue in Winchester the cyclists completed their 100 mile plus challenge of the South Downs Way.

There were many spills and thrills along the way and some cuts and grazes to prove it.

In completing the challenge thousands of pounds have been raised for the childrens orphanage in Nepal which is sorely needed to continue the work of rescuing street children to give them a better chance in life.

My thanks to all of you who have supported us all in this.  It is not too late to contribute to the fund.  Click here to do so.

We will all take a few weeks to recover and consider future challenges to continue to raise funds. If anyone would like to join us on any of the future challenges, let me know.

With my thanks,
Graham Bailey - on behalf of the Team"

The Route

The 3-day event started from Beachy Head on Friday 18th September 2009, and stopped at Southease & Rodmell, the Youth Hostel at Truleigh Hill, Gumber Bothy, and Queen Elizabeth Country Park, we finished at Winchester on Sunday 20th September 2009.

A support team followed the riders to provide medical and mechanical support, as well as set up food stops along the South Downs Way. With many of our riders in their 50s and 60s, this was a Last of the Summer Wine challenge in every sense.

If you didn't join us on the ride, or considered the shorter sponsored walk, then please pledge whatever you can afford. No amount is too small.
