Veyanke's Story

"In early 2009, I attended an Alpha Course at Yapton Free Church. It was an amazing experience and during this course I had an absolute life changing privilage of meeting our wonderful God as my personal friend and Saviour.
This was the most amazing thing that I have ever, ever experienced and I will never look back again! For the first time in 34 years I can actually live my life fully and be happy! Never before had I been happy. God has blessed - and is still blessing me - so much each day. Not only have I been completely set free emotionally, but also physically. Just a few weeks after giving my life to Christ, He healed me from a serious back ailment which I had had for years. This happened at a prayer meeting one evening. Just like that, without me even asking for it! So miracles DO still happen, today!
Our God is a God of love who has been misrepresented by so many people. All He wants to do is love us, bless us and be our friend. I am so very, very happy and grateful to have met my wonderful Heavenly Father. I want to walk closely with Him for the rest of my days and the calling of my life is to bring glory and honour to His beautfiul name for ever.
But the most amazing thing of all is that this is evailable for each and every person to experience right now, not just me. God wants a personal relationship with you today and I fully recommend it. It wiill be the best decision you have ever made and will ever make! Go for it!!!!"

"I became a Christian on 12th November 2008 at Yapton Free Church.
"I had a hard start in life. Put in a children's home before I was two years of age. When I was twelve, someone did something to me which caused the down hill ski-ride in my life. A crash course in destroying myself. I went to prison twice through drinking and drugs. I went through job to job and home to home as well as being homeless quite a few times. The last time I was homeless was when I slept behind the Olive Branch Pub in Yapton.
"One Sunday morning I awoke behind the Olive Branch Pub which was a closed pub. I found 3/4 of a bottle of Samburca from the night before. So I downed the bottle at 10:30 in the morning and then decided to go for a walk and ended up at Yapton Free Church, talking to the leader, Hugo van Driel. The other leader, Gerald prayed for me in church that morning. After they prayed for me I felt strange. Not drunk strange - a completely different feeling.
"I then started to go on the Yapton Free Church Alpha Course. Not long after that I became a Christian because the Lord saved me and now I love to praise the Father. Amen!
"Thank you Lord for saving me."
