Church Life

The life of Yapton Free Church is a pretty active one. The most frequent meeting is of course our Sunday Service, but even that is at different venues, so please check the what's on page to see where we are this week.

Our kids ministry is currently headed up by Gareth and Angela Nunes. Whilst meeting outside at the Page's the children have been joining the adults services. All of our children and youth workers have been DBS checked and we have a current Child Protection/Safeguaring Policy in place which is updated annually and shared with all our children and youth volunteers. Our designated Child Protection/Safeguarding Officers are Henni Sercombe and Liz Hutchins'

This September the children will once again gather after joining the adults for a couple of worship songs and then have their own time to worship, pray have fun, enjoy games and bible stories.

This is primarily for 5-11 year olds, who meet in the small hall.

We have our annual 'Holiday Club' for a week at the end of July in a marquee on Yapton Village Green, where about 160 school age children attend each morning 10am-12noon. This is a free event with something for the whole community and we are really blessed to hold this fun week in collaboration with St Mary's Church, Yapton. We have fun, games, songs, sports, drama, craft and much more.  As well as having a 'Teddy Bears Picnic' a 'Senior Citizens Cream Tea' and a 'Family Movie Night'.

 Conferences & Events

The women of Yapton love to get away together for fellowship & teaching. They regularly plan ahead for days out and conferences eg. Hillsong Colour conference and Catch the Fire Women's days.

Home Groups

We love to meet up! The larger church gatherings have a dynamic of their own that suits joining together with our band led worship and hearing about teaching from the bible, but there are also times when it's really nice to meet in smaller groups. For these, usually meeting in someones home, we have space to talk and engage on a deeper level. It's great to get to know people that really care and support each other in life's journey.

The home groups mostly meet on a Thursday night every week, but not exclusively. There is also a daytime home group which meets at the Old Church Building on a Friday morning. We think it's a really useful part of the life of Yapton Free Church to be a part of one of these groups and believe you'll get a lot out of it if you came along.

To 'connect' with a group, or just find out a bit more about them, please contact Reg Hawks.

Mens Breakfast

We hold a Men's Breakfast once a month, normally on the first Saturday of the month. 8:00am until 10:00am approximately. It is very much an open gathering of men across the village who have a hunger for good food and to grow in God.  We have a variety of menus we cook on different months; from a traditional "full English" to scrambled eggs and kippers to a healthy continental style breakfast.   Most months we have a guest speaker.

This breakfast takes place in several different locations, although mostly at the "Old Church Building".  We also meet at the marquee on Yapton Village Green during the Summer Holiday Club.  What you can be sure of is there's time to share what God's been doing in our lives and be inspired by teaching or testimony.
We do not charge for the breakfast however voluntary donations are welcome towards the cost of the catering.

See the church diary for the next venue.

Most talks are recorded and can be listened to via The Yapton Mens Breakfast SoundCloud Page
